SA Firefighters Motorcycle Club at the 4 Corners Rally

On Wednesday, Sept. 1st, Ten San Antonio firefighters motorcycle club members embarked on a 7 day trip to visit the Four Corners Motorcycle Rally held in Ignacio, CO. Roger Lopez, Reyes Lopez, Jeff Mata, Rick Garcia, David Maderos, Luke Swenson and his wife Kimberley, Bob Scott, Brandon Finn, retired firefighter David Soto, and Jim Naegelin rode until arriving in Roswell, New Mexico. We stayed a day and took in the UFO Museum. The next day we rode into Santa Fe, New Mexico and met up with Larry Davis, Fao 34 motor, and retired Captain Tom Bullock. The third day we rode finally arriving at Durango, CO.. We enjoyed three days in Durango sightseeing, shopping for those mandatory, Honey thanks for letting me go-gifts, and attending the Four Corners rally. These motorcyclists encountered all types of weather on this trip that, at times, severely tested their riding skills, but luckily everyone returned in one piece. Although the weather didn’t want to cooperate, those of us who ventured out were greeted with spectacular vistas of snow-covered peaks and 50-mile mountain top views when the clouds finally cleared. Arthur Guzman, Mario Guien, and Gregg Hernandez with their wives met us in downtown Durango where we partied into the night. The last day we trekked north fifty miles to Silverton Co. this was a beautiful ride waterfalls, grand vistas, snow caped mountain ranges, and lakes. The camaraderie, good-natured ribbing, numerous humorous incidents, and great motorcycle riding made this a memorable trip for the participants. With everyone looking forward to next rally excursion, wherever that might take us.

The next day it was raining all morning, after it wouldn't stop we decided to head out anyways... took of to Mesa Verde to see the Indian ruins...

Halfway there and another 20 or so miles to go we begin to contemplate if we have made a good decision or not...

Well we decide to keep going despite of the cold and the rain. When we pulled in we decided to hit some dryers and dry off some of our clothes... some of us decided to dry off more than others.
