CHILDRENS BURN CAMP RIDE

run logo

We had 16 bikes and about 20 people enjoy a great ride to this year's Burn Camp. Among the campers there to greet us was Chief Hood and his family. Thank you Chief Hood for your support and participation. Also among the campers was our brother member David Madero and his wife Jill. They spent the week working at the camp representing our club as well as the Fire Dept. Thank you David and Jill, we are proud of all the work you have done.

We saw some campers from past Burn Camp rides, and it was good to see the progress they have made over the years. We also had a chance to catch up with some counselors and supporters that we have become friends with in the past.

After mingling with the campers and having a hearty lunch we presented the TBSS Children's Burn Camp a check in the amount of $11,250.00, this was possible through everyone's hard work and our donor and supporters generosity. Thank you all.

Fire Chief Charles Hood and his family visited the Texas Burn Survivor Society's Camp David in Kerrville, Texas on July 9th. To view the story go to KSAT 12's website listed below.

THANKS FOR THE HELP

fundraiser logo

Thanks to all you guys efforts we had a successfull Fundraiser again this year. Despite the heat and humidity we were able to raise over $8,500 for the Childrens Burn Camp. We are hoping that when everyone settles with their tickets we will be able to go over $9,000. If you still have outstanding tickets, please contact Terri to settle up so we can have a grand total by next meeting.

Speaking of the next meeting, due to Burn Camp Ride being on our regular meeting date, we are going to have our regular monthly meeting on July 2, at 6;30. The meeting will take place at the VFW Hall. We will discuss the ride to Burn Camp as well as our fundraising efforts.

Once again big thanks to all our members, family, friends, all the other M/C clubs and Riding Groups who came out to help make this BBQ a great success. I would also like to personally thank Leons Ice House, Joe and Laurie Kierstead, as well as Fundraising Chairman Rick Garcia and Committee Chairpeople Monkey Joe and Sharon, Greg Hernandez, Georgina and Kerry Yoast, and all the smokeaters who spent countless hours cooking up the vittles. THANKS

MARTINEZ FAMILY BENEFIT

Hey guys,We have the results for the Benefit Sunday. First of all I would like to recognize all the members who were involved with the event in one capacity or another. The meat cooks, side dish cooks, food servers, ticket sellers, raffle prize donors, club members and non-members who made cash donations and Frio Saloon for use of their location.

Very seldom do we see such a mix of clubs in one location at one time. We had Blue Knights and Bandidos, Police and Fire personnel, Christian Clubs and Riding Groups of all Kinds supporting us with ticket sales. All of them were there to support us, so we will have to remember them when they have a function or benefit.

Chris wanted me to pass on how thankful he was for everyones help and how proud he is to be a member of the San Antonio Firefighters Motorcycle Club.

Please keep Marti and her Family in your thoughts and prayers.

A HUGE THANK YOU FROM THE BURN SURVIVORS SOCIETY

September 12, 2007

San Antonio Firefighters Motorcycle Club

On behalf of the Texas Burn Survivor Society, I want to thank all of the members of your club who came to our camp last month to visit and work with our young campers. The children always enjoy having their pictures taken on the motorcycles as well as having the opportunity to meet and spend time with the caring women and men of the San Antonio fire Department. Your time and efforts truly contributed to making this year’s Camp David a success. Without the assistance of dedicated volunteers, we would not have been able to provide this great opportunity to so many children.

Enclosed for the Club’s enjoyment is a CD of pictures taken by Danny Warner, on of your own; and by Rob Sinclair, a volunteer who comes from Florida. They did a great job of capturing the fun and adventure that camp presents. A special thanks goes to Danny for taking his time to duplicate the CDs so that we were able to send a copy to each family of campers.

We also want to express our gratitude for the contribution your club made recently to help subsidize the camp. Words cannot express how much we appreciate your ongoing support of our organization.

We look forward to continuing to work with you in helping others. Thank you again.

Sincerely,

David Jayne
Co-Founder and Board President

On Saturday, April 9th, the MDA with assistance from members of the SAFFMC held a poker run to raise funds for their charity. Approximately 50 motorcyclists participated in the run.
